I installed 2 deep cycle battery's on the front of my TT. When hooked up to plug in 30amp my TV is fuzzy. But when I disconnect my battery it is ok. As of now we have a laptop and TV. I need a Inverter right? So my question is,how do I install the Inverter as close to the battery if my battery is outside on the tongue of my TT? Any inverter over 500 needs to be connected directly from the battery right? I also read that if I use the Inverter that the battery's will need to recharged. Being hooked up to plug in will not charge as fast. Have not bought a generator yet since we have only been at RV campgrounds. How would I recharge battery's not offending other RV'ERS using a generator if I needed to recharge? Thanks to all who respond.

Wiring the inverter to the battery is an easy task but finding a location with 5 ft (that's the requirement for most) is the tricky part. As for the generator question, buy an ultra quiet genny like the Honda EU2000i. They are so quiet you can hold a normal conversation right next to one.
I'm installing an inverter right now. I want it placed near the TV so I run a heavy 2 gauge wire from the batteries at the front of the TT. I have 2 Honda 2000's which recharge our batteries.
Been there...done that. Here is what I did.
1. Locate a spot in the front of the TT as close as you can to the battery (my situation--under the goucho couch/bed).
2. Drill hole in the TT floor to run cable...which for me was also in a compartment under the TT where inline fuses were located.
3. Replace all battery cable with the largest cable at Home Depot (3/0) (purchased a lug crimper for $25 and heat shrunk all connectors)...both positive & negative sides.
4. Added battery shutoff switch (2 input type).
5. Added a mini buss to attach my 12v wires (instead of connecting at the battery post).
I recall buying about 18' of 3/0 cable...cutting with a hacksaw...hammering the cable in a vise to make turns and bends...and I kept the cable length to my Xantrex RS400 inverter to about 6 feet (after going through the hole making all the bends). Perhaps the 3/0 cable may be an overkill...but I love my movies at night!

P'cola, your first problem is to figure out why the TV is fuzzy when you're plugged in and the batteries are connected. That shouldn't happen. Did you consider that possibly you'll still have fuzzy TV if you're plugged in with the batteries connected using the inverter?
Second, if you usually go to parks with electric your converter should be charging your batteries. You don't need a generator in that situation.
Uou start by saying Your Television is "Fuzzy" when running on shore power? or are you running your TV off an MSW inverter? (Which will often make TV's Fuzzy)
you put the inverter in a vented compartment near the batteries. Or you can put it just inside the trailer, in the front, so long as
1: It is close to the batteries
2: It can breath FRESH AIR (Either indoor or outdoor air)
3: It does NOT breath battery fumes.
See note re-MSW inverters and fuzzy TV's
Switching converters.. In theory,, can cause that too (I have never seen it happen. but I won't say it can not)
