I have a Forest River Berkshire 390BH and am having an electrical problem. I went to put the fantastic fan on in the kitchen area and nothing happened. I then tried to turn the refridge on and that was out also. I checked and the fuse that protects these was blown (the fridge, furnace and fantastic fan are on the same circuit). Upon a recommendation from Forest River, I unhooked the furnace from the circuit and replaced the fuse and the fridge works fine by itself. If I re-connect the furnace, the fuse blows. I'm not sure if it is the furnace or the fantastic fan that is causing the problem.

I was wondering if anyone had any similar problem and what the fix was.
Thanks.

Fantastic fan also has a fuse in the frame near the screen. Take that out and do an elimination process. After identifiying the failed component, (fan or furnace) then you will need to find the short. I once found an errant screw that was laying against the sail switch spade connector causing a short. It could be anywhere. Good luck.

You said you disconnect the furnace and fan and the fridge works

You reconnect the furnace and the fuse blows

Did you also re-connect the fan? (You failed to say if you did or not)

Should you find that it's definitely in the furnace feed, here's a hint - the 12V commonly goes to the furnace wiring area, then directly to the thermostat, then (when the thermostat calls for heat), back to the furnace control board. The grounded lead could be anywhere in this loop - more likely at the furnace end, though. Be sure to report what you find!

Not sure, but I think that the fantastic fan is connected through the furnace because I can not find where the wiring for the fan is to disconnet just the fan. I will keep working on it and post a resolution when it fixed.
