The XADC40 with Power Factor Correction only needs 6Amps AC at full output. If his model has PFC, than a 1000 watt gen should work as long as there is not much else connected. That is a cool feature of the XADC.

If you like the weight of the 1000i for handling/moving, you might want to buy two 1000i's and parallel them for 1800 watts maximum. The 2000i is only rated for 1600 watts maximum and of course weighs almost twice as much as a single 1000i. Two 1000i's also gives you generator redundancy in case one of the two should ever fail out in the middle of nowhere.
I bought a eu2000i because of the very small difference in weight/price/fuel consumption. I now have the option to run an air conditioner if I ever want to. The 2000 is a reasonable size for me. -Jason
