Last winter there was a strange RV in the AZ park we stay in.
It was an Airstream TT with axle removed, mounted on the bed of a flatbed diesel truck.
It took quite a set of steps to get up into it.
I didn't get a picture for some reason, but if he shows back up this winter I will get one and post it.

In the middle of pull through, full hookup sites...a small tent with 3 teenagers. All they did was play loud music, and dance, all night. The dancing was a site to see. It consisted of straight up and down jumping. We're glad we liked the music, and during the day the teens didn't bother us. But someone complained about them 3 nights in a row.

Howdy!

We're in Fairbanks, AK and yesterday while walking the dogs saw outside someones RV a "Weather Rock" with sign attached:

Wet: Raining
Dry: Sunny
White: Snowing
Gone: Tornado

Thought that was kind of neat.

One of the strangest things I ever saw was while camping in our local state park (Fountainbleau State Park, Covington LA) was a huge Prevost motor home that had two HEPA Air Purifiers running under their patio. Ahhh the great outdoors!

Earlier this year, we camped with a group of EMS, nurses, and fire fighters and someone showed up with bagpipes. That was one of the neater things I've been a part of while camping... The bagpiper played 3 songs around 9:30pm. In the dark, that bagpipe sound carried all through the campground, and people came from all over to watch and applaud.

This reminds me of when I was camping in Ras Al Ghar Saudi Arabia courtesy of the US Marine Corps In 1991. Our base camp was on the coast and after the war was over, our beach was used for recreation. A group of British Royal Marines (about 20 or so) were in a circle playing their bagpipes on the beach. I have always enjoyed hearing bagpipes and it was really good when they played the Marine Corps Hymn for us.

This past weekend at the NHRA event in Sonoma Ca, I was camped out in the 50 acre field... er... Campground and saw the normal incredible range of campers in every condition even to a full Semi, tractor and trailer converted to a massive, hommade toy hauler/5th wheel.

But the funniest thing, which made everyone take a second look or two, was a motorhome that the owner had connected to a perfect set of fake hookups. Power pedestal with water faucet (complete with dripping hose) 30A power box, Cement sewer connection and hose..

They looked so real that security demanded that he prove that nothing was being dumped down the fake sewer connection! A stiff fine would have resulted!

I only wish I had taken photos!!

A while back a member of this forum posted pics of his fake hookups.

Maybe not strange, but at a stargazing camping trip in PA, there was 2 ladies playing harps. It was beautiful music. I hope they come back for the next starparty.

Years ago a family near us in a tent had a six burner wood cookstove. I am not sure they even make those anymore. To clarify that, they slept in a tent and had the stove outside.

My uncle made a wonderful camp stove and that reminds me of it. He got a big restaurant grill and made it the top to a wood stove that he'd load into his trailer he pulled behind his camper. We used to have huge family reunions. No problem making breakfast for 30 on it...
