A few years ago, I found a Public Campground close to the DC area, but now I'm unable to remember it's name or where it's located, suffering from CRS, anyone able to assist.
tks

Could it be Pohick Bay? It is south, in Virginia--very wooded campground on the Potomac.

Are you perhaps referring to GREENBELT PARK?

Greenbelt is the closest campground...it's the only one inside the Beltway.

Hey Everybody,
Thanks for the input, from what I can tell, the campground is Greenbelt. If I remember correctly, the CG billed it's self as being the closest to the DC area. But keep thinking it started with a "A", or was located in a area the started with a "A". But whichever, Greenbelt will suit the bill for July 09.
Thanks Again.....

Maybe Cherry Hill Campground?

From their website...As the closest RV park and campground to Washington, D.C., Cherry Hill Park is the perfect place to stay while exploring our nation’s capital.

I've stayed at Cherry Hill and Greenbelt. They are about equi distance....just an exit or 2 apart from each other. Greenbelt doesn't have hookups...there is a dump station near the entrance of the RV area. It is a beautiful park and the price is right. Could not go much over our 35" MH, IMHO. Cherry Hill has everything, but is not cheap...but then, prices in the DC area are not cheap either.

On edit: just remembered that Greenbelt, being a national park, honors the Geezer discount card (Golden Age or whatever its called now)...makes it real cheap).
