I was wondering if anyone has ideas on how to beef up the sofa bed in the 252DS by Trailite. You sage into the center of the bed, which is not good if you have neck or back pains.

When I was shopping for a moho, I concluded that Trailite used cheap foam. I'd replace the foam with firmer and higher quality foam. Check out foamsource.com

In the down position, the sofa back got saggy as two plastic wrapping-type straps had broken with extended use. Our very good remedy was to unbolt the back from its tubular frame, and fold it down atop the sofa seat (they are sewed as one piece of material). Cut an access slit or two in the back material of the unbolted seatback mattress and work in a sheet or two of thin pegboard-like particle wood ( cheap at Home Depot) cut about a foot by 2 ft piece or two (may overlap in their long direction) and work in between the metal mattress grid bars and the foam. The wood will stiffen the springs, but still flex a bit. It solved the problem for this 250 lb RVer!.

If the sofa seat is the culprit, I see no reason you can't work some board sheets between the metal frame and the foam there either. I don't recall seeing any of that plastic yellow strapping on the bottom, though, and ours still seems OK as far as no bad sagging of support.

We take our 4" memory foam mattress topper from Costco on any trip over one night. I fold it into a "Z" and feed it under the sofa in thirds to store it during the day. I am thinking of getting two twin sized or a thinner size to make storing them easier. It is a job to put the queen topper under the sofa but it fits. Sleeps great.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up using three inch wide by 3/4 inch thick boards to prop up the mattress.I screwed them in place which makes for easy foldup. I need some time to get the motorhome out and see how the bed is.
