NH TT accident

On our White Mountain voyage this past Friday travelling to Campton, NH we saw this accident shortly after it happened. What a sad reminder of how dangerous things can get. We did notice from the skid marks that they were in the high speed lane and the wreck was so bad I could not tell if there was as sway control on the setup

My families thoughts and prayers are with the Lang family.

Man, as an RV guy who has hauled his TT up that exact stretch of highway many times, this one really hits home.

Such a sad situation. Us New Hampshire folk appreciate our "Live free or Die" motto, but maybe if seatbelts were mandated by law... who knows?

My families' hearts and prayers are with the Lang's in their time of sorrow.

Such a sad story, unfortunately, we hear about this far too often.

Makes one wonder when/if states will get involved in mandating certain safety equipment. As we all know, common sense died a long time ago. I've seen more 1/2 ton trucks pulling 30' TT with NO WDH or sway control. I've also seen more than enough being pulled in the left lane far too fast.

If he refuses to wear a seatbelt, that's his own fault. It isn't about mandating seat belt use, it is about personal responsibility. If you are too stupid to wear a seatbelt and you die because of it, not only have you wasted your own life, you've deprived your loved ones and friends of your company. This man would most likely have not worn his seatbelt anyway if it was law.

No seatbelt law in NH?? Wow, I thought seatbelts were law everywhere by now. At least the wife and child were smart enough to wear theirs. Could have been worse, and maybe killed others too.

Hi

I have traveled that stretch myself many times, there is often a severe cross wind just as you climb past the exit. I can remember as far back as 1974, my parents just buying their first big TT of 28' ( which in those days considered huge and towed with a station wagon!) This was our first trip was up to the White Mountains ,with the new trailer. We encountered a orange wind sock blowing straight out to the east, within a few seconds I heard my father say " well the sway control was well worth the $35 we paid for it". Over the years that bright orange indicator was out there helpng motorists, but it's been a long time since I have seen that wind sock, and I travel that stretch at least six times a year.

What ever the circumstances that caused the RV family's accident we can only hope and pray that they recover from it.

What does not wearing a seat belt have to do with the cause of an accident? Granted he probably would have lived if wearing one. which is sad and I feel for his family, but it's not right to put down someone for their personal choice. This is what America is all about personal choice.

It is one thing to not where a seatbelt because it is your choice. It is another thing to deprive your family of their husband and father because you were too stupid to wear a simple safety device. Note that I am not calling for laws for seatbelts and better hitches...that's personal choice, and I am glad that no one else was injured...

He should have worn his seatbelt, towed with a better hitch setup, and slowed down. The first would have more than likely saved his life, and the other two would have prevented this accident from occuring. We all bear the same or similar responsibilities when we tow a TT or drive a moterhome or whatever...

That's too sad, but his death may have been preventable if he had worn a seat belt.
