Sharpie! Watch for speeding golf carts and don't be afraid to ask for autograph but expect to run along cart unless decides to stop. Can't tell you how many times drivers are being carted and they quickly zip through crowd before anyone connects the dots and realizes who it was. Get their early better chance. Best time catching them zip to and from sessions. When I say early, I mean early! Hour before race, forget it.

Don't know weather in PA but in CAL, always sun block, cap, maybe hand pump mister to keep cool if hot and sunny. Again don't know PA so only you can plan in that regard.

Enjoy!

Wife & I worked there each race for 3 years. Be sure to bring rain gear. Most races there get some amount of rain. Bring your food and drink in a smaller cooler (I don't remember the size restriction) but you should be able to find that info or in your ticket package, no glass. Food & drink is were expensive when I was there the last time in 2003, Be sure to get there early, (a few hours) traffic is pretty slow race day. For an extra $30 for the weekend you can get into the pits & paddock area when the pits aren't hot. Plan on staying for an hour or 2 after the race to let traffic die down some. If you are going east on I 80 you will hit a lot more traffic where 380 joins 80. All weekenders heading east from the mountains.

Have fun

Take what ever you need to eat, and drink in the stands. Food it real high. Take a hat. Not just a ball cap. a hat with a brim all the way around. Take sun screen. And a camera.
BTW. Most Speedways allow a 14 inch long cooler per person. a soft sided one is prefered. you can get all you need in 2 of them. You will need cushions as well. And I agree about getting there early. a fewe hours before race time is best. Gives you time to see the stuff outside the track. and there is lots.

Another failed attempt at trashing the largest spectator sport in the US....

Im not trying to trash anything, matter of fact I’ve probably spent more time on the tracks then your average fan.. It’s called humor or at least a try at it. And by the way, I've got all the above ready to go at the next Atlanta race.

Pay the Yankee no attention. many just don't know how NASCAR got started. And don't even know what the Rebel Battle Flag stands for. and Darlington is still the Rebel 500 to us.

Cooler size is restricted to one 6"x6"x12" per person and one clear plastic bag or backpack.

On Saturday, shop around at the vendors and get a feel for the track like where you will park, where your seats are, etc. Get to the track early so you don't sit in traffic for too long and tailgate at the track. Drink lots of liquids and have fun!
