We are moving along in building our off grid house. Today I posted the story and pictures about our solar set up. If anyone is interested check out Chapter 10 at:

Lisa I have been following your build for awhile now and find it fascinating. The pics are great and you do a good detail of describing the things that are going on. Thanks for the update!

That is one incredibly gorgeous view you have there. I can envision sitting on a porch just gazing down that valley every day. Congrats.

Lisa - I too have been following your thread on the other forum. Thank you so much for the pictures and journal of your experiences. The view is absolutely gorgeous - and I am absolutely envious.
Someone asked on the other thread and I am curious as well. What was your motivating factor to build completely off the grid.
Again - thanks for the updates and keep them coming!

Your view is very nice! I read the whole thing. I'm pretty isolated, but you've got me beat hands down.
Are you sure you wouldn't rather have grid power with all the fun week long outages that the country brings?

It is coming along very nicely Mike & Lisa! I can imagine how proud you will be when your home is complete.

Thanks everyone,
S. Sullivan- we decided to go off grid one because the electric is really far away and two because Mike has never done this before. We like to try new things.
8.1 Van- thanks for the link. We love to see what others have done.

That was me. My wife and I built it in 1990.
