My suggestion for Maine - know when you get there, know when you need to leave, throw away the agenda and explore. I've found the best lobster shacks that way.

Closer is better for me, try this community CG in Portsmouth RI, very close for exploring the mansions. Clean, friendly and easy to get in and out.

I am staying at Wells Resort Wells Resort. I am leaving tomorrow tto head inland to Pappoose Pond. Wells resort is clean, quite a few seasonals but they are neat. Trolly stops on Maine Road, a Mcdonalds is next door and a grocery store and movie theater across the street.

BUG SPRAY. LOTS OF BUG SPRAY. Even in Sept.. Seriously don't go out without it. I even spray the screen door of my coach. State Bird is the mosquito if you didn't know. Ma is a nice stop over. Probably plan a trip there alone the next time. Eat a Lobster for me.
