It looks like getting a beach site is difficult. How is the Live Oak section? How far from the beach?

Live oak camping section is about 4/10 of a mile from beach front. The gnats and mosquito's can be a problem at times if there isn't a breeze. I believe that new bath facilities have been built since we were there and the sites have been improved.

We always stay on the beach front, but the sites are difficult to obtain. I have a son and his family on site #29 on the beach front for this week.

We stayed at the Live Oaks section twice and prefer it to the beach sites, as they are longer and nice shade for a long RV. All sites have 50 Amp service and the new bathhouse is very nice. When we were there we didn't notice any bugs, but time of year may make a difference. Be sure to fill your fresh water tank before you arrive as the water is not good for drinking or cooking.

It wasn't 2 years ago, but neither was the road to the beach front campground. We stayed in the Live oak, didn't have much problems with bugs and the bathhouse was nice.
