I'm looking to purchase a class A motorhome. We were orignally going to purchase a 5th wheel, but going toward the class A (we prefer a over c). The purchase of a class A would make it more affordable for us because we wouldn't need to purchase a tow vehicle. We also decided to go towards a gas instead of the diesel. We will be using the RV part time, as we are young (30's) and work full time. However, we do have most of the summer season off. We will be using the vehicle a couple of weeks during the year too. We also have one son will be having another child in the next couple of years. Anyway, I saw a 2005 Winnebago adventure for sale, M-35A-FORD, http://www.rvsearch.com/findRV/index.cfm/a-d/vid-448658/. Please advise about this unit in regard to quality, reliabilty and any major issues or defects I may encounter. I'm looking to get in a "quality unit" for a reasonable price. I also want to prevent being upside down in a unit, just in case we ever decide to trade up or sell. Thanks Dan

I believe the MH you are looking at is the triple slide 35 foot Winnebago. A excellent floor plan and IMO the Adventure is one of the better higher end gas coaches. The only concern that I have is the amount of CCC, that is the amount of weight that you can carry, after the fuel and water tanks are full. There should be a sticker in the MH with the CCC information.

If you are satisfied with the CCC and the price is OK and the motor home is in good condition you should have a quality MH.

How can I be sure that I'm paying a good price for it? I want to make sure that I'm getting a good price. What do most purchasers do or who do they use to inspect the unit?

Dan, Winnebago is a very good Motorhome manufacturer. I have an Itasca Suncruzer 33V (made by Winnebago). I absolutely love this coach. The ad you reference us to states that the unit is an GM 8.1 v8 on a workhorse chassis,it shown have an Alison Trans, all of which are good and reliable. If you go to iRV2.com you can go into forums specifically for each of these items( manufacturer, chassic and transmission)and get lots of information. I am there alot as with this site also. You really can't go wrong with Winnebago.

Have fun. Pete

Go to NADA.COM and punch in the info. You should be able to get it for the NADA Low or at the most NADA averge price. Do not include the options when entering the data since a dealer would not give anything for them either.

Is the NADA low/avg price usually the paying price? I thought it was a fraction of NADA?

I bought a 01 Adventure new (32' one slide) Ford V-10 and have to say. It was the best MH I have ever had including my present 05 Journey DP. If the price is right and in good shape, I say go for it.

If that vehicle is in good condition, $32,000 is one hell of a deal.
The NADA Low Retail is $74,670.

Looking at NADA, sounds like a heck of a good deal. Check out Winnebago Forum and ask questions there. There are a lot of great guys and good info on this forum. Good luck and happy camping! It's the only way to go.
