Has any one have any experence with Front sway Bars installed on their Kodiak chassied MH?Mine is a 06 34G Dutchman. It has a Large rear sway bar but a funky box tubing affair attached to the front axle.Which I feel does nothing to combat sway.

Do you have the 2 1/2" bar. Not all manufactures put this size bar on front.
There are post on RV.NET and Yahoo Kodiak Chassis Class C where additional bars have been installed.
Search for "Seneca" on RV.NET.

DFave,

I've added a Roadmaster front track bar and their front anti sway/roll bar plus Koni shocks and a Safe-T-Plus steering damper and it still handles and steers like a piece of c*^p.

I've lowered the front tire pressures to 85 psi and may be able to lower them further but I cannot find the load/inflation table specific to the Goodyear G107 tires that came with the chassis. The front axle is carrying 6220 lbs but I'd feel more comfortable knowing what these tires can carry before lowering pressure any more. I also need to get a wheel alignment as it has not been done since the chassis left Chevy sans the Seneca body.

Keep us posted as to what you do and if it helped.

Paulin,

If you haven't attacked the rear with a trac-bar then that will be your biggest problem, the 'tail wag' has got to be killing you if your rig is 34' or greater. The final nail in the coffin was the extra Roadmaster Sway bar on the rear. My 35GS scared me to death until I installed the rear trac-bar, now it's mostly one handed driving with steering like a car. I have over 18K miles now and have encountered all roads and weather, the drive is effortless. The rear suspension of your Seneca is about 75% of your problem.

I also have added the front sway bar and the rear trac-bar, as well as Koni FSD shocks and my 2007 35GS drives as smooth as my suburban.

As Dcowley states I think the rear trac-bar is the most important piece of additional suspension equipment to add to the Kodiak.

if you have to only add one thing do the rear trac bar.

dcowley,

Thanks for the info on the Roadmaster rear sway bar. I do have the rear trac bar and the stock Kodiak rear sway bar. Is the rear Roadmaster sway bar in addition to the stock one or does it just replace the stock one?

Thanks,
Paul

Paul,

Yes, it is in addition to the stock sway-bar and goes behind the rearend leaving the stock sway-bar in place. I also have SUPERSPRINGS on the rear so maybe its combination of all changes I have made. My motorhome absolutely does not wallow or slosh from side to side anymore.
