They, like many other manufacturers are feeling the economic pinch.

Any business who's production is tied to oil is going to have trouble with the market like it is right now.

The Michelins on my rig were made in Britain....all you have to do is look at the tires before you buy them....says where they are made right on the tire. Likely just a slowdown because of the economy.

The Michelin Pilots on my Chinese-made Audi A6 were manufactured in China. Michelin has been making tires outside France almost as long as Michelin has been making tires.

I don't see what is so alarming about a multinational "increasing its stake" in one its long-standing joint ventures.

Reminds me of back in the early '80's we were switching over to VHS video (remember those?) and one of our big bosses said he didn't want us to be buying any VCR's that were Japanese. Pointed out to him that the radio in his Ford was Japanese and the only other VCR was from Germany . That was then... but things haven't changed that much, in a global sense.

Ok, I won't buy stock in Michelin. But what's that got to do with RVing issues?

Fact is Michelin has a big plant in OKLAHOMA. The XZE's I run were made in Canada. My Chevy HHR was made in Mexico.
So folks make stuff all over.
