Hi all,
Awhile back I saw a post about removing a metal cover in the hood above the stove in a Lance. As I have a 2005 Lance 835 and am about to leave on a trip I put this on my list to do be fore leaving. Well it sure surprised me when I found that it is not even vented to the outside . Is this normal or did the factory forget to cut a hole for it. I can't see where the hood would do a lot of good the way it is. Comments anyone?

Could it be equipped with a charcoal filter?
If so, it would just re-circulate the air.
I have the same at home.
Certainly not the most efficient system.

I noticed this the first day I took my camper out couple of years ago. DW was wondering why smoke is inside the camper while cooking with the blower on. Uhmm maybe a nice DIY project since there is already a blower. Just poke a hole behind the hood and you have an exhaust.

Be nice if it was that easy.... you need a RV range hood vent cap that secures when on the move and duct to pass through the wall. Watch out for wires when you cut the hole......

I agree with pjay9. If you are near the Lance Facory, have them do it as a warranty item.

My 06 8scs did not have an outside vent so I removed the fan and light and installed an LED light.

I've had seven new campers over the last 20 years and two were Lances everyone had a vent for the rangehood I'm sure that final inspection would'nt miss something like that unless its an option on some models.
