We have just purchased a new 21sso, when the service tech at dealer demonstrated the closing of bunk ends, suggested we store the front bunk mattress on the sofa versus storing it between the front cupboards and bunk end, which is a very tight fit and may deform the mattress. This is somewhat inconvenient. As owners of this model, how do you handle this situation? Appreciate any suggestions

I have a 19 ft Travel Star with the same fold out (I think) I close mine the way they were supposed to in-between the closed fold out and the cupboards, I can see over time them loosing some shape, but moving them would not be practical while traveling. If you are worried take them down and put them someplace flat when not using the trailer, either way, the mattresses are my only complaint so far, very little support compared to others I have slept on.

We also have the ck19 and added the foam, posture supportive mattresses sold at camping World. As to storing the mattresses we leave them in the position the technician showed us during our walk-thru.
No other complaints from us either once we added the foam mattresses.

We have a different model, but same front end, no problem leaving the mattress with the bunk... it's tight, but after a few trial and errors, I've worked it out where I can even get it to close solo with no issues. First couple of attempts it took two of us to wrangle with the door and the mattress.

We have a 21SSO and when we travel, we store the mattresses on the floor in the middle of the HTT (between the couch and the galley)

We keep the mattress in place, fold it and leave it. no problem. I think taking it in and out would be worse but that is my feeling. Our cabinet keeps it in place.

We have the '03 19CK model. After 5 years the mattresses are in as good of shape as new. We always leave them in place when folding them.
It is easier sometimes to fold the mattress up, then fold in the tenting, then fold up the door.- It is easier to seal that way.
Enjoy the new trailer-- We have had great luck with our Starcraft.

We have a 21SSO, and like drenjoey store it on the floor when traveling. I think it would be a very tight fit to leave it in place.

Every HTT models are different, and on the 21SSO, there's no way you can fold the bunks with the mattresses in place. If you do so, you will squash the mattresses.

Well, we store our mattress folded up in the bunk. So far no problems.
