Prefer not to use 'climate control' feature on fridge to keep air circulating as EATS my batteries while dry camping. Was thinking of getting battery(AA's etc)type for both fridge and freezer(freezes up on back center wall-dealer says just humid weather we are having.). But are several out there- with charcoal or without - plain or fancy. I don't want to waste $$$$$$$$$$$$ on some thing that is all hype. Any one have any suggestions? ThankYou, K

I use the blue one from Camping world. Operates on 2 D batteries for over a month and costs ten dollars. Mine is now 3 years old and going strong.

I use the CW blue battery fan but it doesn't move much air and I am tired of replacing batteries. I read a post here somewhere here that described a 12 vdc computer muffin across the door light switch and it would run when the door was closed. I have the fan but can't figure out how to get the door switch out of the ceiling of the fridge.

I bought one of These on e-bay and it works great. Moves a lot of air, uses just a trickle of juice and easy to install. Good Luck!

Why do you need a fan at all? Mine doesn't have any and cools just fine.

Ditto.
I've tried it with and w/o the fan, and the fridge definitely stays cooler with the fan running. It's unbelievable to me how long the batteries last.

ThankYou, dobbler98 - will probably get the 'blue' one at CW. Thanks to the rest of you but really don't want to tap ioto 12v system.
