The wife and I are looking for a workcamping opportunity in California, Oregon, Arizona or Nevada for January and February of 2009. We are both retired, in our 50's, healthy and active.
Does anybody have any suggestions? We've not workcamped before but are anxious to give it a go for the right opportunity. I am a retired cop and currently an EMT and work part-time for an ambulance service. I'm also on the local volunteer fire department. Skills someone may be able to use??? Why not.

Have you checked into being Campground Hosts at a state or national forest service campground? Your skills may be very welcome there. California State Parks
Check with San Diego County parks, as well. DH is retired LEO (CHP), EMT, etc and we got right on for those months.
