Maybe it has to do with who was dealt with. Personally, I had a great experience with them, sales and service, got a good deal, paid cash (my own financing), didn't deal with their financing. I had prices from dealers in NV, AZ, and NM, and La Mesa's was right there. As far a service, their current service manager, Jose Campos, is outstanding and I'm really sorry to see he and his shop go away as generally it is impossible to get good work done in the RV industry. Sorry to everyone else who has had such bad luck with them, but as for me, I will miss them. They reportedly will be opening an Orange County store once the economy turns around, I can only hope Jose and some of his better techs end up there.
I agree with most of the posters...Even though I will not walk onto their lot, I wish they would close down in Mesa, AZ...I tried one time to talk to them about an Alpine and never could get a straight answer...they remind me of the early day car salesmen...sleazy and slippery...
Have had our Dutch Star 03 for 5 years. Spent the winter in MX and it got banged up some. Took photos of all damage and sent them to La Mesa via email and request for appt 4 weeks before we would be there. When we got there, Tucson, they had all the parts, mirror, awning and roller, ladder. Never have had better service and the price was right. Alos had regular chassis service done while there. The three men we dealt with were great. Only inconvenience was they lock their gate at 6:00 pm and you are locked inside. They let us stay in the coach with our dogs the whole wee while they were working other than when they were underneath it.

Bought our coach at LMRV in San Diego June '06, paid cash. Had several issues that need repaired. They finally sent it to Mesa for me to pick up, end of July. 75% of the repairs were not made. Did them myself. Did not receive the paperwork to register it in Az. until Oct. Whole summer wasted. They were too busy bouncing people around the country, that I never got to talk to the same person. Finally traced down the finance manager who did the paperwork on the coach in Atlanta. Called his cellphone number and he finally got things going. Sure was dismayed leaving Mesa in 110 degree heat with no dash air! By the time we hit the mountains, the basement air was just trying to keep up. Top of the mountain grade temp was 63, stormy, and needed defrosters, that didn't work either! San Diego service center really dropped the ball!

The television ad states drastic reductions in pricing. Really.
With La Mesa still having other lots open, wouldn't they be transfering the San Bernardino stock to the other locations?
Kind of reminds me of those furniture stores that come into a town and sell all of their cheap furniture on credit with a high percentage rate and then closes down and moves on to another town.
Their real business is selling finance contracts.
BTW, they are also closing down the Davis store in NorCal.

Last week, the son of a neighbor who had asked for guidance, in the purchase of an RV, went to La Mesa on his own and they sold him, under the guise of "going out of business-big discounts".
They vastly marked up the MSRP, "discounted it 20%", and sold it to him for the actual full price.
He was so happy when he proudly came by to show it to me, I didn't have to heart to break his.

I would not buy a roll of TP from them. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. There are probably a few folks out there who were treated as royalty by this company (in their own minds, anyway)
I couldn't agree more. I had always hoped C/W, located next door in SB, could move into the larger La Mesa building. I doubt the current economic condition would make this a good move.

Loma Linda hospital owns the property in San Bernadino and wants it back for hospital expansion. The dealer is supposedly moving to Garden Grove. I won't evr go back to Giant rv if I can help it bought both of my last trailers there their service is horible took them 3 months to fix my landing gear on my fiver and they just had to replace 1 actuator, we are buying an Allegro Mh from lmrv so I hope they are better than Giant. It has been great so far. Looked al over for a 30 to 32 ft MH and they had the best price We are not financing it though so that may make a little difference.
