They used to have one in Austell, GA. Noticed this weekend, they are converting to a Hobby Lobby.

Here is a link to the story from the Sun, La Mesa RV closing SB location (and Davis)
3:50 p.m.: La Mesa RV closing SB location
By Jason Pesick
Article Launched: 07/18/2008 03:43:47 PM PDT
San Diego-based La Mesa RV Center announced this week that it plans to close its San Bernardino and Davis locations. All inventory at the locations is on sale.
The company blames the weak economy, housing and financial crises and the increase in the price of gas for the downturn in its business.
La Mesa still has locations in San Diego, Mesa, Tucson, Quartzsite and Yuma, Ariz. and in Sanford, Florida.

It's everywhere. A couple weeks ago we went past our local dealer on our way to dinner. All that was left on the lot was one lonely MH , on the way home it was gone, empty lot and building.

Happened here too... Camper's Paradise- KZ Dealership located in Clarkston, MI
Went to the dealership a couple of weeks ago, everything is gone. Doors locked, no inventory left... Sign on the door indicating something about a Funeral, then another one talking about an illness in the family and that they will be closed until further notice...
I'm sure that the rest of the story was probably more of a financial issue due to poor sales from the economy...
They were the only KZ dealership in the Detroit Metropolitan area.
Pretty bummed...

Unfortunately, they aren't the first, and they definitely will not be the last dealer with the same fate. It's going to be interesting to see what's left of the RV industry (if there is one) after this all comes to pass.

My experience with the RV industry has been poor. It seems as though the dealers aren't interested in keeping satisfied customers and the quality of the units that are being produced is poor. Maybe I just expect too much. With that kind of experience and a lacking economy, people will just find something else to do. I'm sure there are high quality units being produced with very good dealershiops and they will stay in business.

I've heard that this is La Mesa's way of doing business. I don't know how long they have been in those areas but I know they opened up an indoor RV sales center in Norwalk CA. some years back and advertised it to death, then closed it only months later and had a "Going out of business sale" and advertised that too. They also had a center in Acton CA for a while.
