I didnt renew my membership this year with CW. I figure that if I need something big ticket from there I will just get A new membership when I go there. Dont know of anything that I will need in the near future from them so thats how I approached it this year.
And dont worry you will still get all their mailings and the E-Mails from them even though your dropped your membership, I still do.
Happy Camping!!!

Camping world is owned by affinity group, which also owns trailer life, good sam club, freedom roads dealerships and even this website. They probably didn't sell your information, they just shared it with other business branch's for affinity group.

Here's how to find out where spam is coming from:

Register your own domain name and make a simple web site under that domain.

Most web site hosting comes with email. There's a "catch all" email account you can set up. Whenever you give a company an email address, give them something unique to them (cw@mydomain.com for camping world for example). All the email sent to this or any other made up address will come to the catch all account. You can tell who sold your email address based on the email address they sent to.

This costs me about $30/yr at godaddy.com.

We opted out also and never get junk mail and we've been members for over 28 years off and on. Now, if we do start getting junk mail, we would simply not buy from them. We refuse to do business with anyone who bombards us with junk mail.

I can tell you guys that your local dealer can do you a decent job buy offering you a 10% discount, all you have to do is ask. I did and I found that the stuff I buy from them is cheaper than CW's club price, and no shipping charges.

I have found that many of the items that Camping World offers through the Presidents Club is marked up so high that even with a 30% discount from them, they are still higher than smaller independent suppliers. I bought a ladder, some electrical components, and some daily maintenance items, from an independent RV supply dealer near me, and then checked CW. Even with the Presidents Club "special price", I saved a bunch at the independent. When you get 30% off an item listed at $100.00 it sounds good, but you're still better off buying the item from the independent if their normal price is only $60.00 without a "special membership".

You have not seen anything. Wait till your wife joins the National Educators Assoc. They average more than 3 times than Good Sams and Camping World

I'm getting quite the collection of Good Sam stickers for my garage fridge! Come to think of it, I haven't gotten one for awhile... Bummer, I was hoping to fill up the entire door with them! The rest of the junk mail just goes in the recycle bin with everything else. Not really that big of a deal for me.

Whenever I sign up for something new (like a magazine), I always put a different first name (like Abby or Haylie). When I receive junk mail, I know where it originated. Agnes

When I bought my RV, I got a year of "president's club" for free.

Didn't get a whole lot of junk mail.

However, after the year was up, they actually wanted me to PAY for the "privilige" of buying RV supplies at WAY over retail price as opposed to REDICULOUS and INSANELY over retail price they charge those that are not a member.

Camping World makes shopping at your local RV dealer look like a real bargain. .

Most of the common stuph can be bought almost anywhere for WAY, WAY, WAY below even the "President's Club" prices.

I know that this forum is run by the parent company of Camping World. Just want to let them know that we are not all one of P.T Barnum's "Suckers" born every minute!

A perfect real life example is that the souper dooper President's Club discount price on Honda Generators is MORE than the full retail price that non-discount places charge, and they can easily be purchased for MUCH less than that just about anywhere (including shipping and handling).

Hey, this is the real life truth. Any idiot can go to their website, compare prices and verify it as fact (yet there are still enough suckers out there to keep them in business, go figure. ).
