I have 2 digital and one pencil tire pressure gauge. When I check the pressure with the 3 guages, they are all different. They vary by a few pounds one to the other. What does everyone use to check their tire pressures with and how do you know it is correct?

I have both pencil type and a round mechanical gage with a hose. I prefer the mechanical gage which is easier for me to use.

Save the best digital gauge and throw out the other two. Then you will always know what the pressure is.
I have a digital gauge made by Accutire.

The best most accurate gage is the old pop up Bar type. I also have a TMS a Doran.

I have 4 quality gauges; an analog commercial gauge/inflator, a pencil-type commercial gauge/inflator, a nice pocket-size digital, and a commercial digital truck gauge. None are built in China or inexpensive. The pencil-type gauge can't be read closer than a couple of pounds, and the pocket digital is max'd out at 100PSI so, it's accuracy at that pressure is likely to be suspect. That leave the commercial inflator with a 2" analog gauge that can be read to 1 PSI and the commercial digital that indicates to 0.5 PSI. Both of those agree as well as I can read the analog gauge, and both are consistent in their readings. I'd suggest getting a good quality commercial gauge. Unfortunately, they aren't cheap.

Take your gauges to a commercial truck tire shop and ask them to check them against their calibrated master gauge. Then use the one that is most accurate. Apply a correction factor if one is needed.

Or go to Amazon, search "accutire", and check out what's there. Some of their lesser gauges are probably not that great, but the two above work. I've tossed all of the mechanical gauges I had because (except the 0-15psi lawn mower one) because they just aren't nearly as accurate or consistent as the digital ones.
