To all,

I just got a letter today from Coachman about the Dometic recall, yep mine is there, has anyone been through the fix? Any problems?
A guy told me about a Ford V10 recall that hits the V10 at ~42,000 miles, anyone heard about this one? he told me to go to "FordV10Recall.com", which I can't find, it has to do with a cylinder going bad...Any thoughts?

Thanks as always,

Jim

didn't go thru the dometic recall, but did get hit with the microwave recall on our samsung and i can tell you, they tracked it down, knew it hadn't been repaired and promptly fixed it--0 dollars. the ford cruiser recall--got it taken care of finally and so glad to have it back guess we didn't notice it cost us some labor (not parts). we've a ways to go before we hit 42k--thank heaven.

I took mine in to a place today and the guy wanted "proof" that mine was one of the ones that had to be fixed. All that he had to do was plug the model and serial number into the Dometic Web site to find out, but he would not do that. This was a place that had a big sign out front, "Authorized Dometic Dealer." A sixty mile round trip for nothing. Well, not really, because the coach needed its monthly drive anyway and Momma and I had a nice lunch out.

I am taking it to another place tomorrow that understands what to do (I hope). According to Dometic, all that you need to do is to show up and the repair place will do it based on the model number and the serial number.

My understanding is that it does not take long to do the job. I will report my experience tomorrow evening,

Had mine done about two weeks ago. Took less then an hour and I was on my way. All it appears to be is a shield of some sort around the lower part of the frige, surrounding the coils. It could be a pain to get to the gas valve if need be, because it covers the lower controls as well. Make sure they plug the electric back in whrn they are done.

Do not have a Ford.
Had the fridge repair done about 3 weeks ago.
I went to this SITE and filled out the info. When finished a list of places to get repairs was listed. One was a Mobile Repair Service. Called them, gave the info they needed. They came out and did repair at my place.
