Hi All,
The wife and I are in the process of purchasing a new K-Z 245KS from a dealer out of State. We have camped before, but never in a TT. I really need some help from you experienced folks as to what I need to purchase to get this rig ready. I know there are batteries, cables, hoses, etc., but if someone could post a laundry list of things needed that would make things a million times easier for me.

Thanks for the help,
The Wilde Bunch

Bungie cords, sticky backed velcro, and duct tape! No RV is complete without these 3 things!

A few basic mechanics tools, but keep it simple and basic.

Everything you'd take for tent camping!

water hose, sewer hose, extension cord, tarp, WD-40. Some of those springy clamps are handy to have.

In 50+ years of RV'ing (long before self contained came along) I've never found a need for single ply TP. If it's safe in a septic system it's OK in your holding tank. Never have had a plug or other problem either.

First welcome to the forum.

Having purchased our first TT close to a year ago, we went through the same. Things i found we added over the first few trips (at a much higher price a the good old camp store)

- Sewer Hose Adapter Kit (some CG require donut or other adapter)
- Sewer Hose Extension
- 30A Extension Cord
- WeberQ
- WD40
- Coax cable for sites with cable hookup

Plus all the good things others have listed.

Glad ziploc plastic dishes. They come with lids, are durable (Mine are three years old.) and cheap. Also can be had in sets of four.

I got a pots and pans set from Big Lots. Cheap, they live in the camper, and no more than I get to travel they're perfect. Also, you can sometimes find nice sets at yard sales from people upgrading.

Cutlery set from Wally World. While you're getting the Gladware look and see what cheap sets they have.

Salt, pepper, cooking seasoning can live out there. Don't leave anything remotely sweet like sugar even in a ziploc bag. You'll have 2.4 trillionbazillion ants I promise.

A small vacuum cleaner. I found a Dirt Devil handheld at a yard sale for $10. It just lives out there.

A few extras, bulbs, fuses, etc.

Bug repellant, bug killer spray, a good outdoor insect repellant. I use Dursban (Currently banned.) and a small garden sprayer. Spray anything that touches the ground like tires, stabilizers, cords. Insects won't cross that even when it's dry, keeps them where they belong.

A broom. You won't belive how dirty the inside gets after a day or two.

Big first aid kit.

Small jack and tools so you can change the TT tires if need be.

What everyone above said, have fun!

I don't get lost, I investigate alternative destinations.

See a guy in the campground with a telescope, that may be me.
