We stayed at Fishing Bridge which is the only full hookups within Yellowstone and it is centrally located which was very helpful. I made reservations last summer for this summer and it was pretty booked even at that. You would have thought with gas prices and all attendance would be down but one of the rangers told us that June set an all time attendance record for that month. I bet 50% of the people we met were either Europeans or Asians. A guy from Germany said that it was cheaper to bring his family to Yellowstone than it was to vacation in Europe. Do be advised that at fishing bridge, no softside campers are allowed because of bears so we turtled there for the 7 days we were there. There were campgrounds at Bridge Bay and Grant's village where you could have tents, popups, etc but these were no amenity sites. Grant's village was very nice with lot's of trees and would have been my second option within the park. You definitely need to book now for Fishing Bridge. I was very glad that we were able to camp there instead of staying at a lodge as we really enjoyed our camping experience.
We just got back from Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons today. We stayed at Fishing Bridge it is cramp, but it was great staying in the park. While we were there they had a forest fire so when we went in from the North Side from Bozeman, we had to drive all the way down by Old faithful which was ok, but it did add on extra miles that day. We saw lots of Bison from Bridge bay to Canyon they were always in the road. We saw lots of wildlife, the only thing we did not see was a bear, but there had been sightings of a bear. I think we might have got more pictures of the hot shots and the people fighting the fire then we did of the wildlife.

Yup! Hybrids are grand. We traveled 3200 miles round trip (3 weeks) from Lincoln to the tip of Cape Cod, then turned around 2 weeks later and went 1700 miles (2-1/2 weeks) to Lake Superior. Plenty of room whether turtled or expanded for 3 adults, 2 kids and a dog. I also ran the refrigerator while traveling. The first time I have tried it and it worked great! It allowed us to stop in rest areas and overnight without worrying about electricity.
Next year we are looking at Colorado, a shorter trip for me. Ah-h-h, as no one else can drive.
