I wanted to get a spot next July at Gamble rodgers, but they are all booked. Tomoka has sites, the max being 34 foot. Has anyone had expereince at TOmoka with the 34 ft sites and can I squeeze my 36 ft MH in there ?

Joe,

You are in luck. I am driving over to Tomoka in the morning. I'll take photos and try to determine if your rig would fit okay.

We just spent a long weekend at Tomoka 2 weeks ago. There are several sites that will accommodate 34". I know sites 32 and 33 will work and there are several others. There is also one huge pull through with a concrete pad (probably an ADA).

We drove through Tomoka this morning. As dlord said, there is one paved pull-through (for wheelchair access). And only a few sites for 34' campers.

Many sites are too shallow to handle campers longer than 34'.

To the OP, your 36' may not be allowed past the ranger's station, as the park brochure states 34' and under.

At Tomoka you must also consider the height of your unit. The road leading in from State Road 40, North Beach Street, is a beutiful drive but is also a canopy road. The trees are very low in some spots. They have recently erected a warning sign as you approach the park boundry, but once you reach that point there is little hope of turning around.

We stayed at Gamble Rodgers a few years ago. I advised the ranger there that I might try a few nights at Tomoka. She advised against it due to some of the tree limbs hanging too low. My rig was just about 12' tall.

When we had our travel trailer the first thing we noticed besides the sites being very shallow was the low lying trees. We knew that when we upgraded to our fiver,
we'd never be going back.......

Like it there, just can't get in there and don't wanna worry about ripping up
my roof or knocking off my a/c to do it either.
