Glad y'all got a kick out of this post. A couple of things:
1. I SAID I knew it wasn't real beer.
2. Actually, other than that stretch of I-65, admittedly under construction, the Alabama highways weren't too bad. (We drove 85 & 65 this trip, plus US287 and US59 down to Gulf Shores.)

The bottles WERE laying on their sides. I'll make a special effort to keep them upright next time. Didn't think about the air pocket.

"Highway Robbery" heh. Wish I'd thought of that for my post title.

You should keep your beer on ice in a cooler when travelling. The ice gives the beer a nice cushion when getting bounced around.

I live right outside of Montgomery, and if you drive down I-65 ten years from now the roads will still be that rough.

Truly one of the most heart breaking stories i've read about, hopefully, the beer had other brothers and sisters that took its place

Hopefully the $100 million being spent on I-65 in Montgomery will save more lives than just those of near beer. But I've enjoyed the post.

Does your brand come in cans? If not, change brands. I never had a can break on me.

If your frig has metal racks the constant bouncing WILL wear a hole through a metal beverage can. Had it happen a few years back.

Another thing to consider..

Prevention is the best cure.

If your trailer does not have shocks, (and it probably does not) Install them. There are kits available and they make a huge difference.

If the ride is that rough on beer, just imagine what it does to everything else, including your trailer.
