We like ours a lot. It doubles as a small bed too. We have a Fleetwood Bayside. It makes it feel a lot more roomy in there. Everyone who camps with us comments on how big it is inside.
We've had PUPs for years and the one we have now with a slide-out is the first to feel roomy enough that we actually enjoy sitting inside. Not that we spend a lot of time inside - but the extra floor space makes it easy for us to move around especially when we have the grandkids with us. He Ruide's advise to site in both types is good advise. Then buy what feels right for you. We wouldn't be without a slideout after having owned one.

When we decided to sale our TT and go with a PUP we knew we wanted one with a slideout. We purchased a Jayco 1206 and love it. The floor space it great. And the 1206 has lots of storage area. I don't think you would regret getting one with a slide.
The slide out dinette was a must for us. I have a large dog and wanted or rather needed the floor space. It's proven to be a good decision. It only adds a tad of space needed to setup the camper but rarely becomes an issue. This last weekend I went camping at Tuckahoe State Park near Maryland's Easter Shore. The site I had reserved had a couple of trees close to the electric box the made me back up and move a bit so I had enough room for the slide out. But in the years I have had it this is only the second time I even had to think about it. If you do get the slide out and you buy the Pupupgizmos shades, get the one for the slide out too.
Take care and stay safe on the road...
