Hi!
I wonder how much weight can be placed in the cabover bed of a typical Class C when parked at a campground? I'm sure that the specific answer to this question depends on the specific model, but in very general terms, what would be the typical weight limit for the cabover bed for a Ford E450-based Class C?
Needless to say, our folks are pretty heavy, so that's why I ask! (Probably from too much beer taken over a long time...)
Thanks!

Sorry I can't answer this but I'm interested in any responses you get. I ask almost the same question a couple of months ago when I got my class c. My family members are not light weights either and I never got any responses. So please any class c owners how much weight do you feel comfortable putting in that bed at night. No where in my manual does it mention a weight limit. My son-in-law is at least 2 hundred pounds and my daughter is not far behind him. I want to know can they sleep in that bed. We have a bed in the back but my DH says he's not climbing in that front bed

At those weights I can not see anyone getting up there.I have two grandsons(14-11) who fit up there just right. But I think 400 lbs would be about the most I would put up there.

My wife and I weigh a combined 525ish lbs. I see no problem whatsoever in our 78 Dodge C Class. I weigh 300lbs. I have no problem getting up there either. Then again, can a 400lb person make it up there? Also I think a bigger problem is how they are getting up there more so than the cabover itself.

RckyMtn we bought one of those ladders like you see on line everywhere. Some sites say it has a 300 pound limit and some say 600 pound limit. It's the same ladder, I looked at the materials used to make them and they are exactly the same. Glad to hear they can sleep up there. Since none of the manuals even mention weight I figured it would be alright but it's nice to see others are doing it. I kinda of figured it would be okay because some class c don't have the bed in the back and less face it not to many of us weight under 150 lbs. So thanks for your input.

I'm sure that this may be a model specific issue. I called Winnebago when I was changing from a sleep area to entertainment for the cabover area and was told 350 lbs was max when traveling, did not ask when set up and camping but I assumed 350 was a good number for both.

Just request the heavier guest sleeps closest to the edge so the cantilivered area gets the lesser weight. Then don't sweat it anymore.
