We have been rving for years and live in the Puget Sound area lately we had some rv friends from out of town ask us where they should camp at. As funny as it seems we do not do much camping close to home so to speak and always drive somewhere. So I did not have a good answer for them

Anyone from this area have any good suggestions?

For scenic State Park campgrounds you can't beat Fort Casey, Fort Flagler and Fort Worden on Puget Sound. They are all on the water.

All of the previous recommendations are really good. Also consider Fay Bainbridge State Park on Bainbridge Island, every ship going into and out of Seattle has to go by you. Manchester State Park is very good. Scenic Beach State Park is outstanding, and then there are some really good private RV parks. Not enough time to stay at them all!

We live right on the Puget Sound also. A couple of weeks ago we spent 5 night at Cape Disappointment State Park...It's not a Puget Sound Park, but is right on the beach and the Columbia River. We had a great stay. Two fantastic light houses and an interesting Lewis and Clark interpretive center...might suggest this to your friends.

We enjoyed Fildago Bay in Anacortes. Its right on the water. THe refinery is across the bay but didn't bother us any.

Second vote for Cape Disappointment! We just got back a couple of days ago (our third stay there). You can't beat the wagon wheels for privacy and they have all new restrooms/showers (we don't use them but they're in great shape). All new infrastructure (wiring, water, and sewer) also. Great hiking, biking, lighthousing, bunkering (they have several on site), sunset watching, ocean wading, and birding. You just can't go wrong!
