I store my MH at home next to the house. It is a tight fit but very convenient. Positioning it perfectly is everything, especially if I want to deploy the slides for cleaning, loading and etc.

I’d like to put a long stripe on the concrete where I can see it with my driver’s outside mirror while backing in, so that I can get it in that “sweet spot”. Paint was the first thing that came to mind, but I think that would deteriorate and look tacky over time.

So I’ve come here to ask my fellow RV-ers if they’ve come up with a simple solution. How about it, any good suggestions?

Call someone that strips parking lots and have them come do it for you.

Call a concrete contractor and have them remove a shallow stripe from the existing driveway, then fill it in with colored concrete.

Two orange cones. Put 'em out before, pick 'em up after.

The boat in the garage is lined up within 1/2" every time with electrical tape that's been down since 93'. And the MH parks on Asphalt that is similarly marked with standard auto undercoating (i.e.- Tar). It’s the same stuff as Asphalt so the storage yard can't say I've defaced them as it fades in about a year.

For concrete, Home Depot has a parking lot line spray that works upside down for marking off construction projects, etc.

Perhaps something attached to the house or cover (if it has one). Like a coat hanger wire with a Tennis Ball on the end so it wont mess up your paint. A long pivot arm. Swing them out when parking and swing them to the wall when done. Like the old 'Curb Feelers' but attached to the house rather than the vehicle.

When parking in short garages we use a string from the ceiling with a tennis ball then when the ball hits the windshield, we know the door will clear the rear bumper.

Painter's tape, the blue stuff from 3-M, works for me. Except, my application is different, I use the blue stripes when backing the boat into the garage. For the motorhome, I like to use a couple of orange cones.

How about a piece of 1x2 or 3" wood for a stake behind the pad? I park my motor home in front of the garage and use the trim on the door to line up with.

If its appearance is an issue because it may be visible all the time, then the concrete stripe is probably the best way to go as far as cosmetic and permanent installation.
But: you might try this in the mean time. Place a hefty stake at one end and and another one at the other. When you need it, stretch a bright yellow nylon cord/string between the two stakes and when done, just remove the string until you need it again. Leave the stakes (should be driven down to ground level) and your good to go.
