Crystal Isles is an Encore Park and we really like it. Some will recommend Rock Crusher Canyon. Crystal Isles is further north of RCC and nearer shopping and restaurants.

Second the motion on Crystal Isles Encore Park. Even has an on-site ice cream store.

Crystal Isles is closer to the beach and fishing pier, but Rock Crusher Canyon was a nicer park. It's selling its sites now, so my understanding is that you can rent sites at Rock Crusher (I'm not sure of the new name) but if someone buys the site you're on, you have to move.

We have stayed at both RCC and Crystal Isles. We definiatly preferred Crystal Isles. Our site at RCC was very dirty and sandy, and very unlevel. We experienced a storm while there and the dirt erroded terribly. Also we found it to not be a very friendly place. The sites are set back from the road, and people kept walking by and staring at us. I'm not sure why they were staring, but it felt as if we were in a fish bowl. Crystal Isles, on the other hand was very friendly and a really nice park. They do have some drainage issues after a hard rain, but the sites themselves are well draining. When returning to the Crystal River area we will definatly stay at Crystal Isles again.

If you like no-see-ums stay at Crystal Isles (Encore Park). THe bugs are terrible there.

Crystal River is our winter home for 6 months and has been for the last 6 winters. We stay at Quail Roost. Quail Roost has great WiFi, no bugs and a great pool and rec hall.

I recommend Quail Roost. We'll be there the first week of November. If you're there we'll be on lot #41.

We've stayed at Rock Crusher ( now Elite Resort at Crystal River ) the last few winter and have been very happy. Nice sites, friendly people and good staff. We're going back again.
Looked at Crystal Isles but didn't like the bugs.
Might have to put Quail Roost on the list to look at.

That area is our home, as Tom N can attest to. The Encore park is nice, but the bugs are terrible and if you have a storm with a high tide, it can get swampy. RCC is also nice but the sites are not always the best, depending where you are, however, the bugs are much nicer at RCC, not so hungry. There are several parks in Homosassa, 10 miles south of Crystal River, that we think are better. There is Natures Resort right on the Hall river and across from the best restaurant in the area, the Margarita Grill. In Old Homosassa, there are two very nice RV parks, Turtle Creek and Waters edge. The one Tom stays in, Quail Roost is nice but several miles out of town. There is also a RV Resort, Natures Coast Landings, 10 miles north of Crystal River that is very nice. It is a member owned park, but they do have rentals and it is centrally located for fishing the gulf or Lake Rousseau. As I said, that is our home, when we're there and if you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

We stayed at Natures Resort and enjoyed it. As previously stated, it is right on the Hall River with a marina and boat rentals.

I failed to mention Quail Roost does not accept dogs during the 6 winter months.
