I have a couple of small cracks in the fiberglass of my roof. Does anybody have any suggestions as how to fix these. They are not leaking to the inside yet and for piece of mine I want to do something with them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

First, verify that they are indeed cracks in the fiberglass, not just the gel coat (obviously, first determine if this IS gel coated FG).

If these are deep cracks, the proven method of repair is to dremel a wide "V" to the bottom of the crack. Use West System Epoxy and glass mat/roving to build up the "V".

If the crack is not structural, a shallow "V" and West System Epoxy will seal it. Color can be added to the West System to match the roof.

Just a thought... What if you used a tiny drill to "terminate" the end of the cracks, then used Eternabond over the cracks?

wolfe10,
It is gel coat and not deep. I was thinking that maybe a little clear epoxy might seal it. What do you think?

Should work as long as you scuff up the area-- maybe tape off an area 3/4" on either side of the crack and rough sand the surface and perhaps dremel the crack. Again, color can be mixed into the Epoxy to match the roof.

And if this area will not be visable, and the crack is not structural, Eternabond would certainly seal the area.

I notice from your signature that your MH is a 2004 model. Some manufacturers give an extended warranty on the roof. It's possible that your may be taken care of by a warranty.
