I am just completing an extended trip of the western and southwestern United States. Here is one of my Duro bias tires at 2500 miles. As with others' experience, I faithfully check both the tire pressure and torque the lug nuts (and don't overload the TT):

As you can see, the aluminum rim is also destroyed. After all of the steep grades and drive directly through Yellowstone National Park (from the east entrance to West Yellowstone) we went through 2 weeks agao, I'm obviously thankful that we weren't injured, but come on ... only 2500 miles before the tires had to be replaced (and a rim). I replaced all 5 tires (including the spare) with radials.

It's hard for me to believe that it was due to a road hazard, since it was the rear passenger-side tire. With the axles so close to each other, it would seem like if there was something in the road it would have also damaged the tire right in front of it (but can't be sure).

DocP,
Having never experienced a (trailer) flat tire while driving, when did you notice you had a problem?

Just an update on my problem with DURO tires. DURO did stand behind their product. I received my new set of DURO tires via UPS at no charge. I would have preferred a set of Maxxis, but these were free. I don’t have any long trips planned so I’ll run these for now

Before I actually noticed the tire had failed a driver pulled up frantically alongside me and indicated that "your rear tire is gone".
