Never used to, but after spending time on this forum I decided to try for the trip I'm on now, and I gotta tell you, its nice to have a cold fridge.

Then it would also stay cool overnight, do you turn it off overnight when you are stopped somewhere?

If it stays cool well anyway, then it would not cycle very much even if you had it turned on. I think this is a negligible savings for a real PITA process. My food, and a possible replacement board, cost a whole lot more than a few cents of propance. I run it all the time....Brian

I always run mine while traveling too.

But that raises a good question...any idea how much propane it does burn to run the fridge?

Yes you can do it. I do all the time.
Just make sure if you have a slide out on the refer side that when it's closed the hose is not kinked like mine did one time and spoiled all the food inside after a 6 hour drive.
Boy did the wife get on me about that one

I run with mine on too. Never a problem. With that said, someone reminded me not long ago that if my rig catches fire when refueling due to the propane being on, then my insurance company will be saying, "We never knew you." Sort of like their digging out the computer from my truck after an accident to see if I was speeding or how soon I applied the brakes.

I still will run with mine on.

Your insurance company will cover because they are designed to auto switch to propane when you onplug electric.

I run with mine off. I know that is tantamount to heresy for some but too easy to forget to shut down while refueling. To me an open flame in a gas station is just too risky, albeit the risk is small. Just my way of doing things and the reefer stays cold for 10 hours if you leave the door shut.
