This may have been covered before but I couldn,t find the answer (senior moment). Bought the digital box and was going to hook it up - seemed easy enough. It wasn't. My question is do you add it to the Wineguard box or directly to the TV?

Any directions would be greatly appreciated.

The converter goes between the wineguard box and the tv.Take the cable from the tv and plug into the converter box at the antenna connector, then use another cable and go from the converter to the tv.
You can buy the cable I used a 3 ft RG-59 cable which can be found at Radio Shack or most hardware stores.

We decided to replace both our old -- 10 years old -- Quasar CRT's with new 26" and 19" HD LCD TV's and not deal with the Digital Box & cable.

So far we spent $599.00 (26" Panasonic), $417.00 (19" Samsung), Monster Cable ($70.00), two Ergotron TV Mounts $140.00 and rebuilding both oak cabinets.

Hmmmmmmm? Does this make economic sense?

And all this to save buying a $25.00 Digital Box.

We made a list of all the campgrounds we have been to over the last 5 years that did not have a cable connection. We could only think of one, it was in Puerto Penasco, Mexico, and a regular antenna would not work there anyway. Guess I won't bother with the converter box. Later I might follow FritoBandito's lead. Things don't always have to make sense to be sensible.

What's a Wineguard box? If you're referring to a contraption that routes your signals in and out, the important thing is that any TV that can't decode digital signals will need to receive it's TV signal from a converter box of some sort (satellite, cable, or your new converter box). Where you put it may depend on what your inputs and needed outputs are. Given the apparent understanding demonstrated by the question, I hope you can make make more sense of this than I can.

Maybe some magic will help.

The digital box goes just before the TV on the input cable. Like was said earlier, disconnect the cable from the TV and hook it up to the box and then another cable from the box to the TV. The 2 boxes I got both came with a short cable. I did hook up one with the RCA cables and then when I use the box I just go over to AV2 which is the selection I made since AV1 is the DVD player, I do like the setup because I can use the regular signal from the antenna or the digital signal if that option is available with out doing a lot of extra work.

To answer your question: YES

There is a hunk of coax cable that runs from the winegard box to the TV

You may add the converter at either end of that cable, or if you wish, cut terminate and put in the middle.

There are a bunch of other ways too If your switch box has a free AUX input reply and I'll tell you the method another forum member came up with.

Still trying to convince the DW that a 2009 Coach will come standard with digital and HDTV.

Now that makes economic sense.........

Absolutly.. and the 2009's are way cheaper than the 2007's were for the same coach since they are trying to generate sales and are doing so by cutting profit

Cause it makes a much smaller "Dent" in the bottom line if they keep the employees... Employeed

The converter box replaces the tuner in your TV so to do it the right way you need three converter boxes. One for each TV and one for the VCR. They also have to have pass threw capability.
