We tow our 2000 Chevy Venture minivan on a tow dolly when we go to our summer place in PA, so that we'll have a vehicle to get around for several months.
For anything else, we don't bother with a toad, because we've been able to go anywhere we want with the motor home, and it only takes a fwe minutes to set up or pack up.

Healeyman,from the year its a 106,ah- what memories that brings back-I tow a Geo-Chevy-Suzuki ,at 2375 lbs with a towmaster,its a 1600cc rig thats been driven coast to coast at 34mpg.I alo have a 72 Jawa 90cc ,Harley 1000cc,Suzuki650cc and a pro street 70 GMC,its all about the toys!they keep us all young

I either tow my Jeep Wrangler or my 22'X8.5' enclosed trailer. The trailer hauls my Sandcar and quads.
I also had the rear of my MH reinforced at a hitch shop. I run the Prodigy as well.

I tow a 2003 Chevy Tracker V6 4X4 with a 2002 Shasta (Coachman) 25 foot.
Ford V10
Roadmaster Sterling tow bar
Ready Brake
Roadmaster adapter
Magnetic brake/tail lights
Rear view video camera
Roadmaster safety cables
Regular trailer break away switch
The weight of the Tracker loaded for a trip is approximately 3300 lbs. I do not detect a difference in the fuel mileage while towing the Tracker although I do drive somewhat slower when towing. The Tracker is light enough that I can't feel it behind the MH and because of its small size I can't see it in the rear view mirrors. I use the rear view camera to watch the Tracker.
I installed the Roadmaster adapter in less than an hour and the installation did not require any modifications to the front end of the Tracker. I ran a 16 gage line under the vehicle along the frame to power the stop/brake lights. I installed a connector in the jack storage compartment. I simply set the lights on the top of the vehicle and plug them into the connector. No modification to the Tracker light system was required.
Towing the tracker only requires putting the transfer case in neutral and leaving the steering wheel unlocked. The factory manual suggests running the engine a few minutes every 200 miles with the transmission in drive and the transfer case in neutral.
I purchased all of the tow equipment on eBay for less than one half of the retail price.

Our RV is small enough that a tow vehicle is not needed, but we really enjoy driving around sight-seeing in the sports car with the top down. The gas mileage lost in towing the MR2 is made up when driving it as it gets 32mpg. RV towing fuel loss is not in the formula.

Loaded trailer weighs about 8500 lbs. The rear frame of the MH was boxed and reinforced by a welding shop. They also mounted the hitch. MH has 460 Ford engine.

My enclosed trailer weighted 6500 lbs loaded.
I have not weighted the dolly and the van but I think it around 5000lbs.
Also the rear extension frame and hitch of the motorhome has been beefed by local RV shop plus the WD and electric brake controller.
