Thanks...I did do that after that trip and it actually took two steps down for the ball mount to get the truck level. With all the junk that we carry on trips such as that one (week at the beach) I thought best to bag it.

I had a set of Firestone RideRite airbags installed on my old 96 Ford F250. The rear springs were getting a bit tired after all those years of towing, and the Firestones perked things right up. Now my truck looks like a vigorous racehorse instead of a tired swayback.
I had the airbags installed for me. It took them about two hours. I had them plumbed to one air valve outlet (no onboard pump) because I don't have a truck camper or another high center-of-gravity load, thus don't have a problem with cornering.
My air bags work perfectly, just as advertised.

Thanks for all the input. It certainly sounds like airbags can be a great addition. Very encourtaging to hear no one had identifeid any downside.

I have them on my Class C, but would love and onboard compressor.

Regardless of which ones you choose, be sure you get all the parts. I ordered Firestones from JCWhitney and ended up with only the bags - no brackets, no hardware and no instructions. I tried for 3 days with their Customer service after receiving them to find the rest of the kit. Not to be found. Thats when I returned and ordered AirLift from Jegs.
They are nice - just knowing you can adjust for a little heavier load.

I have the Air Ride bags in my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. I also installed the compressor and the digital controller. Its pretty sweet to be able to set your pressures when your sitting in the truck. the Air Ride controler lets you set a pressure and it will maintain that pressure. I used it to get rid of that minor sag I had in the rear. I was close with the WD hitch, but my OCD kicked in and I wanted it perfect.

1) What promped you to install them? to remove the mushy ride of the exccursion
2) Are they serving the intended purpose? yes
3) Do you use an onboard air supply? yes
4) What manfacturer did you use and are you satisfied? I forget
5) Any pros and cons would be appreciated. without them the ride would be more stressfull
