I had a Coleman Pop-up 20 + years and we never had an AC unit.
I now have a Fleetwood still no AC.
My question is do you use yours very much and would, could you get along with out it?

I would think that would have more to do about Location, location, location. It's easy for some to say I wouldn't use it if he's from a northern climate. Tell my your from New Orleans and don't use it. I personally have two in my RV, and have used them when it goes above 80 degrees.
It also has to do with your age and what your used to. Older folks tend not to use an AC because of the cost, and they should use it. If your living in the Panama, then visit New Mexico in july you will want a sweater. When I moved from NY to Florida, I remember seeing kids wearing gloves, wool hats and heavy jackets, it was 65 degrees. Just what your used to. Bill

We camp at the beach two or three times a year. I have done it without an air conditioner, but never plan to do it agin. Even in the fall or winter we still run the fan on the air conditioner.

There have been times at the beach that life without AC would be unberable.

After spending a week at the beach in FL without the A/C, I had one installed the week after we got back. My DW has made the comment that she likes it so much that she would have paid twice what the A/C cost us.
And beyond just trips to the beach, the humidity and air temp combine in KY to create a sort of a hell on earth. You need gills to breathe here sometimes. The A/C just seems to suck the humidity right out of our PUP and makes everyone happy. There's nothing quite like having a refuge from the heat when you need it.

We had one on our first pup (purchased used from my sister), and the only reason it had it was because the dealer cut them quite a deal to install it. In a year and a half of ownership, there were two instances where we used it.
Now on our new 1008, we opted not to get it because again, it was expensive. We've found we'd have used it a couple of times, but we didn't have electricty so we wouldn't have been able to anyway.
To us it was more added weight and view blockage than the use we got from it. We tended to use the fan on it more than the A/C, that was really nice to blow air right into the bunk ends. But more often than not we camp without hookups, so it didn't pay for us anyway.

I can see why you wouldn't need it in Wisconsin! I'm jealous. But here in the muggy, humid, sweat belt you'll pray for death without a/c. Camping without hookups will have to wait until the cooler months for me.
I am curious as to why your a/c didn't blow in your bunk ends, though. With it being mounted on the ceiling the vents blow straight into our bunk ends (which I LOVE).
Gotta admit, I love a fan, too. I keep one going in our AAR constantly.
