Thank you all for your kind words.
I am in week 3 now and moving along. I went from walker, back to my original sticks and now on a cane. I still need the sticks for steps but I am progressing. I was hoping to be futher along than I am, but that is due to limited rehab. I had to wait until I could drive to do the outpatient rehab which was this past Monday, Aug 25. I was able to exercise at home but was limited (very small house on a hill). I weaned myself off the crutches and now drive. It will speed thing up. Hopefully I will be camping soon. My goal is end of Sept. for camping and return to work.
I am not yet saying how glad I am I did it but I do look forward to saying it.

Hey! Good to hear from you!

End of September sounds reasonable. Not too early, not too long.

The phrase "one step at a time" makes alot of sense here. Slow and steady wins the race (especially after a major surgery).

You sound like you are making good progress. Thank you for the update.

WTG!!! sounds like you are moving along well. hey with your attitude you will be walking in no time and we'll be reading "i should have done this years ago". hang in there and keep us posted. keep your spirits up, that's half the battle!
