Saw some at Camping World, have heard it will help keep the fiver cooler in the desert heat.
My question...Does it make any difference to cut it to fit the window opening and install it on the inside of the rig or do I have to attach it to the exterior?
Can anyone estimate aprox. how many degrees reduction this stuff help reduce?

Reflectex...Lowe's or Home Depot has it in rolls. I use it on the inside of windows, vents and sky lights. Helps in hot and cold weather. Not sure of the R-value.

Pretty sure it was intended for inside installation. Don't know the "R" value but anything will help.

It made a huge difference in our TT. We cut it to fit on the inside of the bedroom windows. Already had vent pillows that had foil on one side that we keep in all vents when it's hot/cold. They also help. Plus we put blue foam board inside the outside storage areas that also opened into the TT. They don't open to the inside now and it helped a lot with heat/cold. We didn't need to access the items from inside anyway! In the desert I think I would put the reflective material on all the windows, at least keep on during the hottest part of the day.
My sister used it to cover the inside of the windshield on her class "C", plus the side windows and believe me it helped an unbelievable amount plus added privacy.
As you can see I think it's well worth the money. Just buy a roll from a big box store like Lowe's or Home Depot, I'm sure it will be cheaper. By the way, we use the scraps to make can cozies! Just join with duct tape, cheap, easy, and works great!

Use inside. I have it cut to fit all windows and the ceiling vents; velcro works perfect to hold in place. You'll be amazed at the difference in both summer and winter.

Hi,
The R-Value is 4. It can be R-6 if there is a air gap and the seal is airtight.
I used Refletix insulation to cover all of my windows.
I have exeterior screens on the from windshield and put the reflex under the screens, so the heat is retained outside. With my rear window, the insulation is on the inside, so the heat collects just inside the window. But it does not travel quickly to the inside.
I also cut a piece that is 14.5" square, and fits into the roof vent. Above it is 110, below it is only 80 or 85.

I made some large strips that I use in the windows that are getting the hot sun. The strips are a little bigger then the windows, so I stick them up under the valance and they stay put. I also cut the ones for the vents bigger and just push them up in the vent. The vent ones will stay put, even when traveling. They sure do make a difference. When not needed they roll up and store nicely either in the bottom of the closet or under the dinette.

I cut it to fit our windshield, driver window, and passenger window. It's inside the rv. It makes a huge difference! And because it gives privacy, guests camping with us can store their bags and duffles on the dash and then it's all covered by the curtain, like a little closet. Our windshield has a big slope so I cut 2 pieces and they attach with velcro. The next time I go to CW I plan to get more so I can cover the sofa and dinette windows when they are on the west side.
I checked the prices at Home Depot and Lowes and decided to get it at CW. For the sizes I needed, there was less waste with the roll at CW.
It's definately not as elegant as the nice sun screens that attach outside, but it does keep the sun and a lot of heat out.
