We have a 40' 5th wheel, pulling with a 2002 F350 Ford Dually. We want to take it to Manor RV Park in Estes Park, CO. Can anyone tell me if there are any roads to worry about and if Manor is the best place to go there? We are coming from Texas and planning to go in mid September for about two weeks. They close on October 1. Will the nights be chilly for the thin RV walls? It's a Keystone Montana. Any info is much appreciated. We've only taken it to flat, warm places so far!

The two main highways (34 and 36) can easily accommadate any size RV and should not be an issue. I'm not sure about the Manor RV being better or worse but I think all private resorts in Estes are comparable. You Montana will handle the mid September Colorado temperature just fine. September is a great time in Co. to observe the changing Aspen and weather.

Good luck and enjoy.

Average low there for Aug. is 45, Sept. 39. Check your furnace out before you go and have full LP tanks.

You should be fine if your tanks are full and furnace working well. Nights can be cool there.
Could get some snow. We sometime get our first snow in Sept.
Enjoy the Aspens changing colors and Colorado mountains!

My goodness guys, I have tent camped and camped in a pop-up in September at Estes. Yes it can get cool, but its for sure not winter! And yes, I got snow when I was there, not to mention snow at Colorado Springs on 9/8/2001 which made a day at the air force acadamy magic for my kids.

As for the roads, they are great actually, some of the best front range roadways in my opinion. We have friends that lived on the north side of the hi-way near noahs ark, and went to visit several times before they moved away.

Having lived in Estes 1995-2003 I can tell you that you are picking a SUPERB time to be there. We were just there for 10 days a couple of weeks ago. I don't recommend Manor as it can be real tight - REALLY tight with your rig - and has some steep areas in the park.

I always recommend Elk Meadow or Spruce Lake.

Feel free to email or PM me if you want and Estes info.
