I have to take a business trip to New york in a couple of weeks and would like to combine it with a little family time. Is there a campgroup close to the city that I can put the motorhome and still get to the city in an hour or so.

Thanks

There is one in Jersey City. "Liberty Harbor Marina & RV Park" You can see Manhatten skyline from the campground. There others in NY that require an hour train ride.

Liberty Harbor is a parking lot & expensive, but is the closest to the city. We recently visited with our daughters who live in manhattan & we stayed at Croton on Hudson in Westchester county. It's a county park in a country setting right on the Hudson river. It is also right next door to the train station & a 45 min. ride into the city. We usually drove in & it took an hour or less. There was a beach at the park for swimming, trails & even deer. I think we paid about $20/pn & stayed for 2 weeks.

Just remembered....it's about a 15 min. drive to Sleepy Hollow a beautiful little town & cemetery. A fun stop if you've got kids with you

Liberty Harbor is close, But not in an area I want to drive my coach or be (Jersey City). Mahlon Dickerson County Park is beautiful and close.

I never stayed at LH but it is just across the river from the city. You can take a water taxi from near the park to the city. I've heard from many people who stayed there, it's only a parking lot with hookups but it is convenient.
