An excellent 2 lane road until you are 50 miles N of LV then it is 4 lanes, with no real grades and lots of places to stop. We run it several times a year and if you have any specific questions ask. There is a cutoff from 50 to alt 95 to save yourself a couple of miles. We always make it an easy 2 day trip but some run it in 1 day.

Generally, a typical Nevada highway. 2 lanes, good shoulders, not much traffic, and a lot of long open stretches. The rest stop north of Tonopah is a favorite overnight stop for a lot of RVers. Do keep the gas tank filled as services can be a few miles from one station to the next.
The Texan is right on we usually stop in Beatty,Beatty RV Park just north of town not a resort but a good overnight stop clean and friendly, the casino in town has good food and the mexican place on the south end in the old Foster Freeze has good food also. Have fun
At Silver Springs east of Carson city you can take 95A south through Yerington and cut a couple miles off using a good highway. You take a tour of the last great mining frenzy (1907) in the US by taking 95 through Mina, Luning, Tonopah, Goldfield and Beatty. Tonopah has a great Mining Park and Museum complex. Wave to my relatives in the Goldfield Cemetery as you drive into town. We like the hot springs RV park just north of Beatty too. Private hot pool formed by the concrete basement of an old shed with a tin roof that flaps in the wind for a funky "old west" experience.
