Hi,

This is a U-Tube video of a new device called a Winglet - by Toyota. Handy looking thing to get around intercity areas. It looks like a Segway, but is much smaller and does not require the hands to be on the controls.

Not for sale yet, wonder how many 80 year olds will be riding those things. Bill

Love it! When they make one I could sit on, I'll be wanting it.

Wonder how it handles things like bumpy sidewalks and gravel on the surface?

For one thing it will probably sell for a reasonable price and the Segway surely doesn't.

Most State and Federal parks require a device to be street legal before it can be used in their parks.

from a newspaper article, I was under the impression that somebody rented out segways in downtown DC for tourists to use. they certainly would go onto federal property/parks, etc.?

I have a Extreme X-500 electric scooter I take with us some times. I'm 69 years old and travel fairly slow when I ride it around a park. I have had no problem with the park people. If one of my early teen grandsons ride it it doesn't take long before the park ranger tells them they can't ride it in the park.

I can't say what the feds do, but Kansas State parks require that any scooted or cart must be tagged and insured (street legal)to be used in the campgrounds.
