Been sitting in the same spot for 4 years, I'd check it out REALLY well. What's the tires look like? Would you be able to move it. I am assuming the battery(s) are dead? I'd make sure that everything is working before you decided to get it, or you get such an awesome deal that even if you have to put some money in it, you'll still be ahead.

No. They were over priced, over engineered (the basement AC is a perfect example of that), not worth the price overall and yes them being out of business adds to the equation as well. No support when, not if, when you have a problem.
But hey, you asked and that's my opinion.

Oh yeah, one Sig P220 .45 acp.
I just got back from a trip of 800 miles round trip. Due to health issues, my Alfa 5th wheel sat unused since March 2006. The tires were new in 2006 and I did have the axles re-lubed in June 2007. In the years the unit sat in storage, the tires lost no more than 5 PSI! I took the two 6VDC batteries out each winter and kept them trickle charged until put back each spring. This is my second Alfa 5th wheel. Both of them sat for long periods between uses. Knowing what I know now about them after sitting, I would say to look at the Alfa again and seriously. I had absolutely NO trouble with the trailer this time even after sitting 2 1/2 years. If the unit is clean and the batteries need to be replaced, and the axles and/or tires need servicing, the unit may still be sound. But I would not let the fact that is sat keep me from buying an Alfa. Remember the frame and interior construction is Alfas's but the fridge, stove, etc are from regular vendors who still make them for other sellers. Most dealarships still can service what ever other problems may arise in the future.
Good luck.

I understand that the problem with Alfa was with the walls in their motor coaches not their 5er. We have had a Alfa Gold 5er since 2006 and love it. It's like all other manufacturers out there. Some things are done well and some are not. We love our unit, will probably live it it full time in about 2 years. Would I buy a used Alfa, probably not it just seems better to have the manufacturer still around to work with if and when problems occur.
There is a lot of good points being made here and some good and some not so good advise. Remember the unit is already out of warranty so the manufacture is not all that important. Yes it is always nice to know you can go to them for advice. How ever the manufacturer of the components are still around and that is most likely where you will run into problems. If the unit is in real good condition, the price is right and it is the floor plan you want, why not? Some one mentioned the tires and batteries, I would negotiate them into the deal. As previously mentioned the tire need to be replaced, no matter how they look. If they have been sitting for upto 4 years they are no good. Same goes for the batteries dead or not, 4 year old batteries, time to replace. If the seller is willing to give you a good deal. I say go for it.
