If anyone's going to North Georgia this weekend, we'll be at Trackrock CG Friday night thru Monday. We'll be there with a gang of giggly teenage girls, so consider yourself warned

CFoN, you all have fun this weekend and be safe. Labor day usually means just that, labor, for me. I hope to get a lot of yard work done if it does not rain all weekend. Later, Rob

I don't want to hijack but this will keep us on page one. As a possible future rally site, has anyone in the group camped at GA Power's cgs on Lake Oconee? They are Lawrence Shoals, Parks Ferry and Old Salem. I picked up a map of them the other day and the layout looks nice.
On another note I read in AJC that the State is considering shutting down several SPs and Historical sites to save $$. A.H. Stephens was on the list but it didn't say if it was the campground and Hist. site or just the HS. Looks like the cgs would be money makers or at least revenue neutral.

We have camped at all three, Old Salem is the best of the three which is in the middle of lake Oconee. They have a large pavilion at the day use. If I remember correctly you can not make reservations no more than 45days in advance.

We have been to all three as well. Salem is far and away the best, but is spread out all over creation. Nice lake front sites, but sorta elevated so it is hard to walk down to the lake to fish. They also allow you to leave your camper in a storage area for $1.00 per day. We used to go over and take the camper for a weekend, leave it in storage for a week, come back next weekend with the boat, leave the camper another week and come back and camp. It is only about an hour away from here. Have not done it lately though.

Junnie and I will do French Toast for breakfast again. We have not yet decided on the evening meal.
We are also trying to get some more folks to attend. Junnie has a school teacher friend that she is inviting that just bought a PUP and I have a friend from work that I am trying to get to come.

jakesjaunts, glad you decided to join us again. I really like the fresh fruit idea for the breakfast. Probably should do more of that and less of Luis' pancakes and french toast, though they are really good too. post often to keep us up front till we get a sticky. See ya there. Rob

I think we are planning to bring Brunswick Stew for the Saturday evening meal.
Speaking of fruit, the other day our daughter told our granddaughter that before she could have another bite of fruit, she would have to eat some of her chocolate brownie. We could not believe that a female child relative of Junnie and Andrea would have to be bribed to eat anything chocolate.
