I've had the Motosat internet system for several years, and have had pretty good luck using the NetZerovoice software Voip system. Unfortunately, they stopped service a while ago. I have tried Skype, with very poor results. Was wondering if there were any other software systems out there which may work. Net2phone and Yahoo Voice come to mind. Had any experience with these? Or others?

VOIP is difficult with the motostat. Have you looked at the Datastorm users site?

opps....I see that you have posted there.

I will PM you.. With all the VoIP you will suffer from the lag time (1/2 second between when you stop talking and when you start hearing their reply) this can not be overcome

However Intelphone tells me they work over Hughes. I've not been able to try it myself due to no-funds (I wish to) to pay Hughes but once I get my budget un-twisted I hope to try

Well I tried.. You don't allow Private Mesages

You can contact them via http://www.ambervoip.i-fortuity.com/d2/ if you wish. Yes.. I own that page

Since I can not yet test them out. That's all I can say

I have used SKYPE and been happy with it.. These folks though say they can work on as slow as 28 K links

Thanks for the tip on Ambervoip. It appears that they have monthly rates. I was looking for buying blocks of minutes, as I use the Voip very intermittently. One person who uses Skype with Motosat suggested that multiple calls have to be made until a good contact is made with the recipient of the call. The problem seems to be the quality of the connection by Motosat, rather than the Skype software.

YEs they are a monthly rate service. I don't believe they sell blocks like SKYPE does.

I used SKYPE a couple of years ago a few times and was pleased however Hughes service is not as good now as it was then Intelphone (Amberviop, Amber is my queen cat) can work with a slower connection than Skype or that woo-hoo company (hallelujah I've forgotten their name)
