P.S. AARP convention?

Thanks Quadhauler, don't know if you know the history but a year and a half ago I pull the an April fool's joke and some people just can't let it go.

These are the same generation of guys that were duped by the "War of the Worlds" hoax. Mine was obvious, the punch line was delivered on APRIL 1st. But some people rely too much on book smarts and don't have an common sense so when the obvious is presented to them on a silver platter they don't get it.

The "Gas Station" picture gave it away early for most.

WHAT A SHAME!!!!! Rage'n trailers are beautiful, BUT they are out of business. I was sure I would buy Rage'n again if mine ever wears out. I have an FS2600, but it isn't as pretty as yours. Trade? Mine is lighter.

The posted weight for my Rage'n was about 1000 lbs under the actual. Several others have reported the same. I tried to tow mine (briefly) with 5.4L F150. That didn't go well and I was towing it COMPLETELY empty. Because of the tongue weight, your ride is going to be rigid to say the least due to your inadequate suspension on the truck.

Don't forget that when you are "taking your chances", you share the road and you are making that decision for everyone around you too. Seems selfish if you are deciding to do something that you should reasonably know is unsafe. I wish you safe travel.

First of all, have you really picked it up yet? If so, how did the Tundra do pulling this trailer? If you have not picked it up yet, I would do a complete PID (pre-delivery inspection). Be very anal and make sure everything works and insist that any issues are fixed before delivery. Remember that Ragen is out of business so getting things fixed after delivery may be more difficult than expected. Like others have said, it is time to get the real weight (both axle and tongue). A truck stop is the best place to do this since they have scales with separate plates so you can easily get axle weights and tongue weight. If you have not picked it up, I would insist that the dealer weighs it before the deal is closed. Also, out of curiosity, did the dealer mention that Ragen was out of business?

On weighing the trailer, it would be interesting to hear what the dealer has to say. Around three or four years ago I almost purchased a 26’ Attitude bumper pull from a dealer in North Phoenix, similar in size to your Ragen. The salesman wanted to talk price and I told him I needed a certified weight slip containing the axle and tongue weights before we could talk price. They refused to weigh the trailer. LOL – they did tell me that I was allowed to do it after I purchased the trailer though. That was the end of that negotiation.

On the hitch, try a Reese Dual-Can or Equal-i-zer first. If the trailer is pushing the truck around, you may want to comb the used market for a Hensley Arrow hitch. A used Hensley hitch will probably set you back @ $1500-$1800, but it is a whole lot cheaper than a new truck.

Haaa you're killing me. Yea I'm the Bozo, but let's face it this place is pretty AARP convention without some level of excitement.

You sky jockeys are all a like. Opinionated a$$ clowns that think you know it all. Well at least I've never dropped my 5er on the bed of my truck.

For what it's worth I have had a class A non comm license for 3 years, and CAT scale tickets on everything I own and I've never put a combination of truck and trailer together that is not legal. Can you say that? Probably not, but you're a pilot so it's OK.

I seem to recall you're trailer is over 15,000 pounds, do you have your class A non comm? Of course not, you're a highly educated pilot and don't need to play by the rules the rest of us minions need to adhere to.

Some people cant get over the fact they were fooled. Guess he cant face the fact.

Sorry to disappoint you Chimpster!
Yes, we airline pilots do tend to have superior intellect & education. We're also better looking, richer, and have hotter women. Remember that when you're on a 767 over the North Atlantic with one engine on fire... I used that amazing intellect to select & buy a trailer that was within my truck's capacity, and got the endorsement to tow it. All 15k# of it, just like the official sticker says.
Thanks for playing! Now go on back to the Fooligan forum...

Let's go ahead and raise the right away shall we? Chimpster? Harvard grad obviously Actually most airline pilots are ex military without college degree's. Not like that is a bad thing though, I respect military personel both current and former. You sure sound like you think an awful lot of yourself, surprising then that the fact you fell a simple practical joke is still gnawing away at you a year an a half later. Well on second thought maybe it's not so surprising....

I don't always agree with 767CAPT but I thought his "jab" at Chipster was in jest and he didn't call anybody out by name. Chipster is the one that over-reacted and went into the personal attack mode.

Every military pilot I know, and I ride with several, has a college degree. My nephew wanted to be a pilot but to fly anything other than helo's in the Army, he was told he was going to need a college degree. Instead, he a crew chief on C130's in the Air Force.

1. You called me out by calling me "Bozo", actually Bozo is a proper name and therefore should be capitalized.

2. Better looking, richer and have hotter women? Congratulations would you like a medal or a chest to pin it on? You have no idea what my net worth is, my personal appearance or the appearance of my wife. Are you that insecure that you have to make a comment like this?

3. How often do those 767s flame up over the Atlantic?

4. Congrats on your endorsement.

5. Your amazing intellect and education and you still forgot to check if your king pin was locked...Nice. Good thing you make the big coin as I'm sure it wasn't cheap to fix the bed rails.

6. When I ordered and bought my WW I also ordered and bought the truck rated to pull it, and I never pulled it with any other truck.

Congrats to the OP on your new Rage'n they are supposed to be great trailers. Enjoy the trailer and your track days.

Chimpster

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting..."holy cow...what a ride!"

Dream like you'll live forever; live like you will die tomorrow.
