The handout you can receive at the Border is called "Mexican Border: U.S. Agricultural Quarantine Information Notice to Travelers" Program Aid 941. This aid provides more detail about meats, allows Beef, than the online version does.

The is the closest I found online -

http://www.aphis.usda.gov/lpa/pubs/fsheet_faq_notice/notice_mexbor.html

It does adress pet foods.

Rocmoc:

Well your first link shows beef as prohibited. So my question remains: How do you bring back that great marinated beef? Either your cooler has a false bottom or you stuff it in your pockets. Have you forgotten the movie "Midnight Express"?

Hi Moisheh,

How often is anything clear from the gov.? The handout at the Border is more detailed in regards to meats. No problemo with the Beefyo! Would love to bring back eggs as I enjoy the Mexican eggs much more, but no way raw. Just cooked. Brought back 5 packages of the marinated beef and 2 boneless ribeyes on the last trip. Have never seen the "Midnight Express". I even buy the little burritos they sell while you are waiting in line at the Border. The young lady has the best ones. Hers are spicier and she puts two different types in the bag of 4. Gave you a straight line!

We were given a print-out at the border, and beef is allowed according to it.
